🤝 Study Visits: in 2024 we had the pleasure of welcoming 5 groups of visitors eager to study planning for human-scale cities through immersive learning. We start accepting calls from universities and institutions for Study Visits in 2025! Here’s what to expect:
The study visit is held over two days where on day one, delegates and students from visiting universities cycle across Amsterdam to observe the city and streets. On day two, the visitors along with the Urban Cycling Institute’s CEO Meredith Glaser gather in an engaging classroom session to share their Amsterdam cycling experience. Together we delve into questions of how cycling came to be in the Netherlands, what factors influenced mobility, and what lessons can be learned from other cities and more. We are ever motivated to support the next generation of advocates of change through such key knowledge exchange and learning opportunities!

Celebrating together 🎉
'Best Poster' awarded to Urban Cycling Institute at DCRW!
In November the Dutch Research Council (NWO) hosted the annual Dutch Caribbean Research Week, an annual multi-day conference hosted on the Dutch Caribbean islands aiming at bringing the Caribbean research community together to share research and knowledge across all fields of research. The Urban Cycling Institute was represented at the event, where Dylan Power (Senior Researcher) presented a poster outlining our work promoting active mobility on Bonaire.
We are delighted to announce that, based on the decision of the conference scientific committee, we were awarded ‘Best Poster’! We look forward to using our prize, a guaranteed keynote slot at next year's conference, to further disseminate our work and create new collaborations in the Dutch Caribbean.

We love receiving your personal stories! This time, we travel to Pakistan where Hayat Nazia shares her passion for cycling through storytelling on the Early Bird Riders website. Her inspiring narrative reminds us how cycling can be a powerful tool for boosting mental well-being 💚 Thank you, Hayat, for sharing your journey with us!
I am a passionate and enthusiastic storyteller and advocate for cycling in Pakistan. I believe cycling can serve as a powerful means of connecting the global community. As a cycling advocate, I cover various inspiring cycling stories from across Pakistan. To me, cycling is a bridge that unites diverse cultures and people from around the world. It embodies a spirit that fosters a deep connection between humans and nature. Through my advocacy and storytelling, I aim to inspire a global community united by cycling, while also witnessing its transformative impact on both the mental and physical well-being of individuals. I write for Early Bird Riders Club, a self-sustainable and independent organization, promoting the mission of a physically and mentally healthy society through events in Pakistan.
